Arrogance Policies in Holy Qur'an: Contemporary Applied Study

Share this post :

The Qur'an is not a history book or a collection of short stories meant to narrate the tales of Pharaoh, the people of 'Ad, or other arrogant nations merely to document events or entertain the reader in moments of leisure. Allah Almighty says: {Indeed in their stories, there is a lesson for people of reason} [Yusuf, verse: 111], and {So relate the stories so that they may reflect} [Al-A'raf, verse: 176.]

The purpose of Qur'anic stories is contemplation and the extraction of lessons, among them, understanding the nature of the policies of the arrogant, so that we may benefit from them in our contemporary lives. The Qur'an is timeless; its lessons live on beyond generations; though verses were revealed about past peoples who are now gone, they continue to apply to those who come after, just as they did to those who came before.

This book explores models of the policies of the tyrannical in the light of Qur'anic verses, aiming at help us understanding modern forms of arrogance, as practiced by powers such as United States, Israel, Britain, and others. These include: spreading corruption under the banner of reform, 'divide and rule' tactics, distortion of facts, denial of truth, intellectual tyranny and monopolization of knowledge, dumbing down societies, promoting materialistic lifestyles, plotting conspiracies, the use of violence and terrorism, and economic and military domination, among others.
